Production

Demand for ammonia is growing since it’s strategic commodity that serves a wide range of sectors including fertilizers, chemical, refrigeration, mining or pharmaceuticals. Increasingly, clean ammonia will also be used as a fuel for the maritime and energy sectors as well as a hydrogen carrier. Europe’s production capacity is approximately 18Mt/year and a vital component of Europe’s food and energy security.

Green ammonia

Green ammonia  is produced using electrolysis based on renewable energy, leading to the decarbonisation of ammonia production.

Renewable ammonia

Renewable ammonia is produced using bio-methane based on renewable energy, leading to the decarbonisation of ammonia production.

Low-carbon ammonia production

Low-carbon ammonia is produced by employing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technology, leading to a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
